Eurovision 2023: Loreen returns to the competition with 'Tattoo'

Loreen is already considered the big favorite for this year's Eurovision, a decade after winning the contest with 'Euphoria'.

Loreen won this year's Melodifestivalen with her song 'Tattoo' and will represent Sweden at the 67th Eurovision Song Contest in May in Liverpool.

Late last year it was announced by Swedish broadcaster SVT that 28 songs were to compete in Melodifestivalen 2023.

After six weeks, the singing competition came to an end on Saturday 11 March with the final taking place, with 12 songs taking part and Loreen's 'Tattoo' winning.

Loreen's 'Tattoo' triumphed in both the international jury and public vote. Loreen won by a comfortable margin in the final standings, amassing 177 points to the second song's 138 points, and is set to fly the Swedish flag proudly in Liverpool.

Loreen wrote "Tattoo" in collaboration with Peter Boström, Thomas G: son, Jimmy "Joker" Thörnfeldt, Jimmy Jansson and Moa "Cazzi Opeia" Carlebecker.

Of course, this won't be Loreen's first time gracing the Eurovision Song Contest stage. After her first win at Melodifestivalen in 2012, Loreen participated in Eurovision Baku the same year with "Euphoria" and won first place in the contest.

Loreen says of 'Tattoo': 'It's a song about love. It has strength and depth in it. I tend to talk about love, because there is nothing more important! Especially in our time, we must give love to one another."

“When I first heard this song, I felt with my whole body that something was going to happen. I had the same feeling in the past with the single "Euphoria", he notes.

Loreen has captivated audiences with her fantastic voice, unique artistic expression and soulful lyrics.

In 2012, he won the hearts of Europeans with 'Euphoria', which went on to become one of the most famous and commercially successful songs in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest, topping the charts in 21 countries.

The Swedish singer was aware of its power: “I knew that 'Euphoria' had the potential to change the surrounding energy and offer everyone new kinds of artistic expression. It was fantastic that he received such recognition. He achieved his goal, however, I always look to the future,” he says.

Loreen has already laid the best foundations for her participation in Eurovision 2023.

"Tattoo" is currently at No. 1 on the Swedish singles chart and the Swedish radio airplay chart, and predictions have it as the big favorite in this year's competition.
