Chappell Roan shares her reasons for refusing to endorse Kamala Harris

Chappell Roan recently explained why she plans to vote for U.S. presidential candidate Kamala Harris, but stops short of endorsing her.

The *Hot to Go* singer faced criticism after not endorsing either Harris or Republican candidate Donald Trump in a recent interview with *The Guardian*. In a follow-up TikTok video, she clarified that while she isn’t voting for Trump, she still couldn’t fully endorse Harris.

Roan elaborated further, stating that endorsing and voting are two separate things. "I don’t agree with a lot of current policies. Obviously, f**k the policies on the right, but also, f**k some of the policies on the left," she said on TikTok. "That’s why I can’t endorse. I can’t put my entire name and project behind either side because I can’t support some of the left's transphobic and genocidal views. There are serious issues on both sides."

The 26-year-old artist expressed her frustration with the current political landscape, saying she wasn’t going to "settle for the options" given to her or let others "make her feel bad" for her stance.

"So yeah, I’m voting for f**king Kamala, but I’m not settling for what’s being offered because it’s questionable," she explained, adding that she can’t endorse someone she doesn’t "fully, fully trust."

Chappell, whose real name is Kayleigh Amstutz, concluded her message by encouraging her followers to vote in the upcoming election. "Vote for who, in your mind, is the best option for what we have right now, because it’s all we can do," she urged.
