A 32-year-old man has died at The Weeknd's concert in Philadelphia from severe head trauma after falling into the void.
According to police authorities, a 32-year-old man died at The Weeknd's concert in Philadelphia, United States, when he fell from a height of 12 meters.
The Weeknd kicked off his After Hours Til Dawn Tour at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field on July 14.
The Weeknd's concert first made the media rounds for the 32-year-old singer's heartwarming move to fly a six-year-old fan to Philadelphia to see him perform live, after the scheduled first show of his 'After' tour was postponed Hours Til Dawn' in Toronto, Canada.
However, CBS3 Philly reported that a 32-year-old man named Hugo Sanchez died at The Weeknd's concert in Philadelphia.
Authorities say just before 11 p.m., Sanchez was sitting on an escalator rail and fell about 40 feet. The unfortunate man was rushed to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight.
According to authorities, the incident appears to be an accident, but the investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing.
According to a previous CBS3 report, the station reached out to The Weeknd's "After Hours Til Dawn" tour company, Live Nation, for a statement, but has yet to hear back, while representatives for Lincoln Financial Field declined to comment out of respect for Sanchez's family.
The Weeknd has yet to make a statement regarding the 32-year-old's death.
After the concert, however, she took to social media to post various photos from the night and wrote: “Philadelphia, we finally made it. Thank you for helping me start the tour. Last night was emotional for all of us. i could feel each and every one of you. Next stop, New York!”
