Drake has filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG), accusing the label of defamation for promoting Kendrick Lamar's diss track "Not Like Us".
The Allegations
In legal documents filed in a New York court on Wednesday and obtained by Reuters, lawyers for the Canadian rapper alleged that "Not Like Us" was intended to falsely label Drake as a "criminal paedophile" and to encourage the public to enact "vigilante justice" against him.
Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, claimed the song put both him and his family at risk, forcing him to hire extra security and remove his seven-year-old son from school in Toronto for safety concerns.

The One Dance rapper submitted court documents in Texas, accusing UMG of defamation over the track, which includes inflammatory allegations accusing Drake of being a pedophile.
In the new filing, Drake's legal team argues that Not Like Us has tarnished his reputation by making "false accusations of being a sex offender, engaging in pedophilic acts, harboring sex offenders, and committing other criminal sexual acts."
The petition claims UMG executives were aware of the song's damaging lyrics and had the power to "refuse to release" the track or demand......
