Madonna got a tattoo in honor of her late mother.
The 63-year-old singer was just five years old when her mother, Madonna Louise Fortin, died of breast cancer in 1963 and wanted to honor her with her newest body tattoo, the word "Maman" - in French it means "mother". - on her right wrist.
"I'm doing this for my mother," Madonna said in a video she posted on her Instagram account.

Madonna then explained to her 16-year-old son David, when he called the tattoo parlor Lovers Killers to be informed about the progress of the process, why he chose the word "Maman".

Madonna got her first tattoo in 2020. It was a series with the initials of the names of her six children, 25-year-old Lourdes, 21-year-old Rocco, 16-year-old David and Mercy and 9-year-old twins Stella and Estere.
She has also tattooed a Hebrew phrase that translates freely as "and kissed" and a red "X", which refers to her latest album, "Madame X" (2019).
